Newsletter 01.09.16

It’s been a busy week in F2, exploring and learning together.  This week the children have enjoyed investigating frozen animal ice bergs, bubbles, foam and soft sticky play dough.  The role play corner has been in constant use as the children learn about each other and share their experiences of home life.  There has been a lot of cooking!

This week the children have been introduced to some of our other learning spaces; the soft play room, the fundino playground and the library.  Together we are learning what we need to do to enjoy these spaces.   We also enjoyed visits from Mr Jon, our fabulous music teacher, we are looking forward to visiting the music room next week.

Notices:

Water bottles and hats
Please ensure your child brings their water bottle and hat to school every day.  We take these with us when we explore other learning areas around the school.

Library
The children will borrow 1 book during their Library session on Tuesday and bring this home to share.  Please return library books to school the following Monday.

Family Photo
A friendly reminder to bring in or email us a family photo as we are developing our talking wall, 'Our families and ourselves', and would love all of our F2 friends to be represented.

Sensible shoes
Please make sure your child wears sensible shoes to school to ensure their safety when doing physical activities.  Again we would like to emphasise that the school policy discourages wearing Crocs or croc-style footwear.

Full day programme
Our full day programme starts on Monday 5th September.  If your child will be staying for the full day, please help us by talking at home about what this will involve so your child is prepared.   After story time the children will eat lunch together, brush their teeth, have nap time, play time and a circle time before we say ‘goodbye’ for the day.
Please remember to bring a toothbrush and toothpaste to keep in class.

No swimming
As we get into the swing of full days next week, we will not be using the splash pool just yet.

Thank you for your continued support as the children settle into the new school year.  Have a fabulous long weekend!
Ms Sara
